    Race Types (Thoroughbred and Arabian)

    ALW - Allowance race
    A race for which the racing secretary drafts certain conditions to determine weights to be carried based on the equus caballus's age, sexual activity and/or by operation.

    AOC - Allowance/Optional Challenge
    This race type combines features associated with two traditional race types, Allowance and Claiming races.     CLH - Claiming Handicap
    A race for horses entered to be claimed, with weight assignments similar to those of a handicap race (see Handicap listed above).

    CLM - Claiming

    A claiming race where one or more participants is immune to race without the possibility of existence claimed after coming off an extended layoff and is running in a challenge race that has a claiming toll equal to or greater than their last start in a claiming race.

    WMC - Waiver Maiden Claiming
    A claiming race for non-winners where one or more participants is allowed to race without the possibility of being claimed afterward coming off an extended layoff and is running for a claiming race that has a claiming price equal to or greater than their last start in a claiming race. .

    Past Performance symbols
    These symbols are used in by performance lines.

    A N in CL, WMC and WCL races means the equus caballus was alleged ineligible to be claimed by the possessor per state regulations.

    Past Performance Superscripts

    A superscripted S on any runway condition indicates a sealed track.
    A superscripted number past the equus caballus'southward weight is the appentice allowance (the "bug")
    A superscripted number by the turf grade symbol indicates the turf rails setting in anxiety.

    Conditioning Codes
    "b" means "breezing".
    "bg" means "breezing from the gate".
    "h" means "handily".

    Rails Weather condition

    Turf Weather:

    HD - Hard - Surface is difficult and horses do not have normal cushion of the grade; frequently follows periods of drought and high temperatures.

    FM - Firm - Equivalent to Fast on Dirt Track; course is dry and at height efficiency.

    GD - Adept - The drying process continues, times improve and the runway is approaching a Firm condition. Fewer divots may exist evident.

    YL - Yielding - Ordinarily following some wet weather; horses' hooves dig up the course and divots are flying; times are slower

    SF - Soft - Usually following prolonged wet weather; horses' hooves sink in and dig upwardly the grade; times are considerably slower.

    Clay Conditions:

    FT - Fast - Completely dry and at optimal efficiency.

    WF - Moisture Fast - Occurs immediately after a heavy rain; track has surface water on it, but the base of operations is still solid, accounting for times similar to (or fifty-fifty faster than) a fast rails.

    SY - Sloppy - As the track continues to accumulate moisture, the base is still solid but water is starting time to seep into the base of operations; SURFACE WATER IS EVIDENT.

    MY - Muddy - Wet has permeated the base of operations of the track; times are somewhat slower and running tires the horses more.

    SL - Slow - The racing surface has begun to dry out; the base of operations is withal soft, but surface drying is axiomatic; times are generally slower than normal.

    HY - Heavy - Similar to Dingy, runway surface is deep and consistency is thick, an obvious slowing of times will be apparent every bit volition the tiring of front runners.
